Frequently Asked Questions

Is this receipt maker free?

Yes. PineBill's receipt maker is free to use with no signup required. Fill in your business details and what was paid, preview the receipt, and download a PDF at no cost.

What is the difference between a receipt and an invoice?

An invoice asks a customer to pay and shows a due date. A receipt confirms that a payment has already been made: it shows the date paid, how the customer paid, and a balance of zero. Send an invoice before you are paid and a receipt after.

What should a receipt include?

Your business name and contact details, a unique receipt number, the date paid, the customer's name, each item or service with its quantity and price, any tax or discount, the total paid, and the payment method with a reference such as a transaction ID or check number.

Can I add my logo, tax, and currency?

Yes. You can upload your logo, pick your currency, add a percentage or fixed tax, apply a discount, and include shipping. A signature or stamp can be added on the Company tab.

Is my receipt data private?

Yes. Receipts are created in your browser. PineBill does not collect the business, customer, or payment details you enter, or any files you upload.

Can I make a receipt for a business I don't own?

No. A receipt should only be issued by the business that received the payment, using its own name and details. Creating receipts for purchases that did not happen, or in another company's name, can be fraud.
