PineBill translates the parts of the document it owns — Invoice, Bill To, Due Date, Total and the rest — into twelve languages, then formats the amounts to match the locale you picked: 1,234.56 in New York, 1.234,56 in Berlin, ١٬٢٣٤٫٥٦ in Riyadh. Pick Arabic and the whole layout mirrors. Twelve: English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Turkish and Azerbaijani. You pick the language on the invoice itself, so one client can receive German and the next Japanese from the same account. ### Does PineBill translate what I write on the invoice? No, and this is the important distinction. PineBill translates the labels it owns — Invoice, Bill To, Issue Date, Due Date, Terms, Product, Qty, Total and so on — from a hand-written dictionary for each language. Your own text is left exactly as you typed it: line item descriptions, notes and terms are never machine-translated. If you want those in another language, you write them in that language. ### How does right-to-left work? Arabic is the one right-to-left language PineBill supports, and choosing it mirrors the whole document rather than just right-aligning the text. Alignment flips, the column order reverses, and numerals follow the locale. The result reads as an Arabic document, not an English one with Arabic words in it. ### How often do exchange rates update? Once a day. A scheduled job refreshes rates shortly after midnight UTC and stores them against your organization, so everyone on your team converts using the same numbers rather than whatever a page happened to fetch. They are daily rates, not a live market feed. ### If rates change, does my old invoice change too? No. Each invoice records the exchange rate it used and the date that rate came from, and both are stored on the document. An invoice issued in March still shows March's conversion however far the market has moved since, and the rate is printed so your client can check the arithmetic. ### Can I bill in one currency and report in another? Yes. Invoice clients in whichever currency suits them, and your reporting rolls those invoices up into a single base currency using the stored rates. Conversions run against a US dollar base, so a euro-to-yen invoice is converted through USD rather than as a direct pair. ### Will PineBill pick the language automatically for each client? No. Nothing is inferred from a customer's country, address or browser — you choose the language, per invoice. That is deliberate: guessing wrongly on a document someone is being asked to pay is worse than asking you to spend a moment choosing. ### Does changing the language change the tax on my invoice? No. Language and currency affect wording, number formatting and layout direction only. Tax rates, tax rules and any compliance requirements in your client's country are yours to set and are unaffected by which language the document is written in.
