# Calendar

> Your meetings and your money on one grid — events, deadlines and due dates, colour-coded by where they came from.

Most calendars only know about the things you put in them. PineBill's knows about your business: alongside the events you create, it overlays your task deadlines, invoice due dates, project deadlines and expense dates, each in its own colour. Look at it as a month, a week, a day or a running list of the next 30 days. Drag your own events to reschedule them, and switch off whichever sources you don't want to see today.

## The calendar at a glance

- **Five sources, one grid** — Your events in emerald, task deadlines in blue, invoice due dates in amber, project deadlines in violet and expenses in rose.
- **Month, Week, Day, Agenda** — A month grid for the overview, hourly grids for a week or a single day, and an agenda listing the next 30 days.
- **Your events, dragged into place** — Start one from the button, an empty day or a time slot. Drag it somewhere else to reschedule — the duration comes with it.
- **Filter by source** — Every source carries a live count for the period you're looking at, and the Filter button shows how many you've switched off.

## Look at it however the day needs

Four views over the same information, and the events you own are yours to move.

### A month, a week, a day, or just a list

Switch views from the toolbar depending on what you're trying to see — the shape of the month, the hours in a day, or simply what's coming up next.

- Month for the overview; Week and Day on an hourly grid
- Agenda lists the next 30 days — expenses aren't included there
- Previous and next move by a month, a week or a day, matching the view
- Jump to a date from the toolbar, or scroll the month grid to travel
- It opens on today, every time

### Add an event, then drag it wherever it lands

Click the button for a blank form, an empty day for an all-day event, or a time slot for a one-hour timed one. Change your mind later and just drag it.

- Three ways to start: the New Event button, an empty day, or a time slot
- Title and dates, plus optional times, location, description and six preset colours
- Drag to another day or slot to reschedule — the duration is preserved
- Right-click for a quick delete; deleting asks first and can't be undone
- All times are read in your organization's timezone

## Everything with a date, in one place

Not just what you scheduled — what you owe, what's due, and what's running late.

Task deadlines, invoice due dates, project deadlines and expense dates appear on the grid next to the events you created, each in its own colour. You didn't put them there — they came from the records themselves, and they update when those records do.

- Events you create, task deadlines, invoice due dates, project deadlines and expense dates
- Each source has its own colour, so a glance tells you what kind of day it is
- Only your events are edited here — the rest are read-only, and open the record they came from
- Click anything for its details: a task's status and tracked time, an invoice's amount, an expense's cost
- Filter the sources down to what matters today, with a live count on each one

## However you keep track, it's on here

Five ways people read their month in PineBill — and the view or control each one leans on.

### Freelancer — Month view

Client calls and invoice due dates on the same grid, so chasing payment stops being a separate list you keep in your head.

Example: 3 calls · 2 invoices due · 1 project deadline

### Agency — Project deadlines

Several projects' deadlines overlaid with the team's task due dates, so you can see the week where three things land at once.

Example: 4 projects · 11 task deadlines this month

### Consultant — Day view

An hourly grid for a day made of back-to-back sessions, with each one dragged into place as the schedule shifts.

Example: 6 sessions, 09:00 – 17:00, one grid

### Studio / Small Team — Filter by source

Switch off the sources you don't need today and keep only what's due, so the month stops looking like noise.

Example: 5 sources on · 2 off · badge shows the count

### Solo Operator — Agenda view

The next 30 days as a plain scrolling list rather than a grid to interpret — what's next, in order.

Example: Next 30 days, newest first

## Frequently asked questions

### What actually shows up on the calendar?

Five things, each in its own colour: the events you create (emerald), your task deadlines (blue), invoice due dates (amber), project deadlines (violet) and expense dates (rose). Only the events are something you put there — the other four are drawn from the records themselves.

### Can I change an invoice's due date from the calendar?

No. Task deadlines, invoice due dates, project deadlines and expenses are read-only on the calendar — they're reflections of records that live elsewhere in PineBill. You can click one to see its details and jump straight to the source record, and you change the date from there. Only your own events are edited on the calendar itself.

### How do I create an event?

Three ways. Click New Event for a blank form, click an empty day in Month view to pre-fill it as an all-day event, or click an empty time slot in Week or Day view to pre-fill a one-hour timed event. A title and start and end dates are required; times, location, description and a colour are optional.

### Can I drag an event to move it?

Yes — drag it to another day or another time slot and it reschedules, keeping the same duration. This applies to your own events only.

### What's in the Agenda view?

A scrolling list of what's scheduled over the next 30 days, which is often easier to read than a grid when you just want to know what's next. One thing to know: expenses aren't listed in Agenda view, though they do appear in Month, Week and Day.

### Can I hide the sources I don't care about?

Yes. Click Filter in the toolbar and choose which sources appear. Each one shows a live count for the period you're viewing, and when something is hidden the Filter button carries a badge telling you how many sources are switched off.

### What colours can I give an event?

Six presets. The colour is optional — it's there to help you tell your own events apart at a glance, separately from the colours the calendar uses to mark each source.

### Which day does my week start on?

Whichever you choose — Sunday, Monday or Saturday. It's set in Setup under Calendar Settings and changes the first column in Month and Week views. Only the organization owner can change it.

### What happens if I delete an event?

You'll be asked to confirm, and then it's gone — deleting can't be undone. You can delete from the event's details view, or right-click the event for a quick delete.
